The Story of Atoa

This exhibition, curated by Hersley Casero and organized by Pinspired Art Souvenirs, marks the third edition of ATOA — an initiative that started in 2021 to bring local artists together. With 43 participating artists, this is the biggest ATOA show yet, showcasing diverse artistic expressions that highlight both the beauty and fragility of our oceans.

Opening Reception

Last Sunday at 10 AM, the much-anticipated opening of ATOA 3: Dagat took place at The Henry Resort Dumaguete. The event brought together artists, collectors, and art enthusiasts to celebrate creativity and our shared connection to the ocean.

Guests were welcomed with freshly brewed coffee from Coffee Collective and delicious éclairs from Pastry Dream, making the experience even more special.

Among the notable guests were Vincent, the owner of Mugna Art Gallery, Faye Manalo, a talented artist and owner of the beloved Shelter Art Gallery, Amy Villanueva, the owner of Kawayan Collective. Their presence, alongside many local artists and collectors, underscored the strong sense of community that ATOA has fostered over the years.

The opening started on a high note with a soulful performance featuring seashell sounds by Nicky Dumapit and a captivating set by renowned Dumaguete saxophonist Jay Cyrus, setting the perfect atmosphere for the gathering.

The overwhelming support from the art community made this opening truly special. Thank you to everyone who joined us in celebrating local art, creativity, and shared responsibility for our marine environment.
