Artwork statement:

"This piece embodies the experience of becoming one with the sea. As I float on the water's surface, I feel its waves, its touches to my body, this state of unity. I imagine sensing the sea's emotions – its joys and struggles, its natural and foreign objects. But most profoundly, becoming one with the sea fills me with a deep sense of relaxation, a feeling I embraced while the ocean remains here and clean."

Artist bio:

In Negros Oriental, Philippines, Jude Millares is a Dumaguete City based visual artist. Practising his intricate technique in painting has been his interest for the past 10 years. During his college years taking up Bachelor of Fine Arts, Millares has already found his artistic identity through his chosen style of creating abstract/psychic automatism kind of art. Jude has been involved in many group exhibitions held inside and outside Dumaguete City.
Jude's pieces and even his process in creating artworks has seemed evolved from outputs he has openly confessed having no meaning at all to paintings that contain full of stories about his vissions and experiences in life deciding to have his first solo exhibit be titled "Journals".
