]]>During this waiting period, we channeled our energy into meticulous preparation. We crafted educational posters about Mangrove Protection, generously made available for download from our website. A social media campaign was also launched to educate both local communities and visitors about the vital importance of mangroves. When the exhibition finally opened, attendance was limited, but the collective relief and excitement were palpable. Visitors were captivated by the project's significance and the artistry it showcased, leaving us with invaluable feedback that fueled our passion further.
Beyond the physical artworks, Pinspired Art Souvenirs collaborated with our artists to produce limited edition art prints, available at our store. The proceeds from these prints directly support educational programs dedicated to mangrove protection by the esteemed Big Blue Network.
This project ignited a spark within us, inspiring a desire to engage in more initiatives of this nature. We were not only pleased with the results but also deeply gratified by the collective effort to support a local NGO and champion the preservation of our mangroves.]]>"Every Filipino has heard of Filipino mythical creatures, they have been around even before pre-colonial Philippines. They are apart of our rich culture and even contribute to our mannerisms. During outdoor activities we often get reminded to say Tabi-tabi or acknowledge that there are other beings beside us that reside in this plain of existence and upsetting them would bring you and your family horrible misfortune. It was respect that was often brought up and It was also respect to these beliefs where I wanted to start the project.
The arduous process began with the idea and from there I sketched and experimented on different styles until finally landing on the perfect look which both resonated with my personal taste and the companies desire to create something unique. Did I mention it was a true collectible set? Yes, all the creatures had to be living in one world. That means there is a seamless transition that connects one creature to another. Which was a challenge on its own.
Creating this project was very personal to me because it touched a big part of my childhood. Living in the province, we didn’t have enough access to technology which was at that time was also still developing and is still is. I remember me and my friends would huddle up and talk about myths and legends passed down from our relatives for hours. It sparked our imagination and our drive to role play and create. I didn’t know back then how impactful it would be for my artist life.
“Filipino Mythical creatures” is already an inspiration in itself but how could we refine and beautify the characters while still grounding them to the source material. Filipino creatures have a dark and twisted history to them so it was a challenge to keep all those boxes checked while still making a product that would attract all audiences. Even those who aren’t familiar with the Filipino mythos.
After a lot of exploration, revisions and rendering time I had to launch a product that would represent my views as a Filipino artist. I had a job to do and I’m glad I managed to get it done but without the support of the company, my friends, family, and the people I love who are always there for me when the notorious artblock comes all of this wouldn’t have happened. So thank you and I’m inviting everyone to support this project to have a piece of Filipino culture with you." — by Alexander Jusay.

When Alex joined Pinspired he breathed new life into our project. As a graphic designer and illustrator he has a huge potential and we are excited to do more Pinspiring stuff with him.
]]>One of his first projects for our company was business card illustration for Cebu Design week which turned out to be mural in our office. We’ve got so much positive feedback about our business card so we decided to put it on our wall.
Original artwork represents two sides of the Philippines: Sarimanok is the symbol of imagination, dreams, and mythology, While the whale shark visualizes the real and raw beauty of the Philippines.
At the same time, Alex was working under our first art print for the Pinspired shop. Again dreams and whale sharks. What to say, we just love it!
It's already available in our shop, where you can have it framed or not framed:

And now we want to share a very short interview with Alex about his path as an artist.
Where were you born? What is your native city?
I was born in Ormoc City.
Does anybody in your family have artist skills?
Surprisingly all of us have creative skills in different shapes and forms. However, only me, my dad and my older brother know how to draw/paint.
Where did you learn drawing?
I learned through observation and burning passion.
Where did you study and what subject?
I stopped school due to personal reasons. I don’t think diplomas really matter in the modern art world. However, it does improve your chances by showing how competent you are at finishing a degree which translates into work ethic.
How old were you when you started drawing?
As far as I can remember. Since I had the chance to hold a pen. I was in first grade when I knew that I love to draw. My teacher asked me to draw a picture of a cartoon character.
Why do you draw in such kind of style? Please tell us more about your technique.
I wouldn’t say I have a particular style because I love to experiment. Although, I do favor painting and Lineart now than any other styles.
What is your inspiration?
Quite literally everything that sparks my interest at the moment. From rocks to the stars there is always something interesting to see. The universe is massive after all.
What do you usually do if you don’t have inspiration, but you need to draw?
I face a lot of external pressure and influence that make it hard to keep consistency but Ironically, those outside forces are also my source of motivation.
What do you want to do in the future? How do you see yourself?
When I gather enough knowledge and resources I want to be a teacher.
Where do you like to travel? Where have you been?
If I ever get to travel someday, I wanna start in the Philippines. It’s my own country and It’s a shame if I don’t witness it first before thinking about leaving abroad.
What do you like most about the Philippines?
That we are the freest and most open country. There is a lot of misconception among Filipinos about the Philippines. Most of these are negative which upsets me since our country is beautiful and if it is taken care of, the possibilities are endless.
What is your big aim or dream?
I have so many but the first thing that comes to mind is that I want to build my own studio and create opportunities for kids like me, who never had the confidence and opportunity to become an artist at an early age. Art takes time and the younger you start the better your chances are at landing a job. It Isn't an assurance though, they still need to do the work themselves.

When you talk about the Sugbo or also commonly called as the ‘Queen City of the South,’ it is dominated by the haze of the Sinulog festival or handcrafted guitars in Mactan, and we made sure to incorporate that with our souvenirs to drag you to the “Sugbo feels.”
Of course, the Basilica del Santo Nino — home of the original and oldest religious relic in the Philippines; and the famous fiesta table masterpiece — the Cebu Lechon Baboy are included to the feels. Turns out, even if you travel around the country, Cebu’s twist to the lechon is truly one of a kind, the reason why it has a special spot for the ones who tried it.
Now, are you looking for the hippest yet unique souvenirs from your latest Cebu trip? Well, we have the best of both worlds for you — whether you want to give out specially-designed postcards splashed with vintage colors featuring the symbolic Cebu City or you may find it appealing to go for the fancy-looking pins at an affordable price, we got you.

Educational art project Life-Giving Seagrass is devoted to Seagrass protection in the Philippines and supports local community educational programs by Big Blue Network.
The exhibition of local Dumaguete artists Cil Flores and Angelo Delos Santos represents the beauty and fragility of marine animals and their habitat.
While working on the project, the team from Caus Planet visited a Big blue Network marine summer camp in Zamboanguita and spent a day taking video of the learning process and activities with the kids. The resulting seagrass film was shown during the opening of the exhibition and is now available online.
An educational brochure and posters were designed to help raise awareness about seagrass protection in the Philippines. You can download it from the links below.
All original artworks were displayed in The Flying Fish Hostel (Dumaguete city) during 2 weeks from 30 of June until 14 of July 2019. After were transferred to Natura Spa Dumaguete, to the old Spanish house, until the end of July.
The marketplace with promotional items, art prints and organic bags was arranged during the opening of exhibition.
Big Blue Network team holded educational activities with visitors with seagrass identifying through the foldscopes.
Seagrass theme has a lot to explore. As a real plant they have their own root system, flowers and seeds which artists highlighted in their art. It is the habitat to many fish and invertebrates, and the main food source for such creatures as green sea turtles.
To promote Dumaguete artists and attract more people to the opening of exhibition we created video teaser of the event.
“As an artist, I want to help raise awareness and inform the viewers of the importance and protection of seagrass through my art. The world is already suffering from climate change and I want to play my part and use my art to relay messages about the current state of our seagrass and the environment. I am also doing this to inspire artists and other people to take a stand and get involved in protecting our ecosystem.” — Cil Flores.
“I combine sea creatures, corals and seagrass in my artworks because it is my way of showing people that in order to protect marine lives, we also need to protect their habitat. I chose pen and ink to express the beauty of wildlife in black and white.” — Angelo Delos Santos.
Apart from local Facebook groups our project was featured in PNA Newsroom, Philippine News Agency and Dumaguete Metro Post.
We are really grateful that we had such opportunity to promote local Dumaguete artists and to support environmental protection organisation in the Philippines.
]]>Our partner New Susing's Guitar from Lapu Lapu, Cebu provided us with 7 beautiful ukuleles with heart shaped sound hole special for this event.
Celebrating the National Arts Month, collaboration promotes local art and is aimed to be a supporting Little Children of the Philippines Foundation event.
Each artist shares its story about their own reason of loving Philippines:
"The Philippines is home to some of the most beautiful native flowers. Thus, the ukulele’s design is inspired by the different flowers which thrive in the country, such as gumamela, sampaguita, and anthurium."
"There are more than 7107 reasons to love the Philippines. Reasons as deep as the ocean, and as colourful as all that call it home. Some reasons fill your ears, some your belly, but most, your heart. You can fall in love with her as fast as a ceres bus, and stay as long as a whale. Her people are bamboo in tropical typhoons, and sunrise warmth and vibrance. No man is an island, but has a million brothers and sisters. These are the reasons we love the Philippines, as honest as the day is long."
"I choose this subjects for my piece to show that they to have some unspoken lullaby I hope that through this art piece we could hear the songs of their cry for help to save the world they live in and I hope with the stroke of strings with this piece it will touch our hearts to feel and see how beautiful the ocean is."
"The ukulele art represents the simplicity of the Filipinos and abundance of agricultural products in this tropical country. Bahay Kubo is a famous Tagalog folk song and a cultural heritage, which is considered to be a symbol of togetherness."
"I love the fact that the Philippines has so many beaches. They are beautiful and easily accessible. Most locals find it enjoyable to relax with a natural breeze and the sound of the waves in the sea under the shade of coconut trees and this is easy to find in this country. The beach brings out smiles and memories and simply a great happy feeling which we all need in our lives."
"This concept is combined with the Filipino language represented by words that pertain to common beach scenes in the Philippines."
"From thousands of Filipino brands you can find many or at least one which you love. Filipinos proud of their brands, especially by people hiding behind them. The ukulele art illustrates in a pop art collage colourful world of some of the Philippine brands, that become part of our everyday life here in the Philippines and around the world."
The opening of exhibition took part in the Flying Fish Hostel, Dumaguete city.
After the opening all ukuleles were displayed in Alima Cafe, Dumaguete city for 2 weeks.
After the event was completed we visited LCP in Dumaguete city to donate proceed from sales of original ukulele artworks. Gifts for kids were provided by Pinspired Online Shop.

]]>Enjoy her short interview about life, art and inspiration.
Where were you born?
Dumaguete is my home town and native city. Both my parents and their families are also native Dumagueteños.
How old are you?
I’m 24.
Does anybody in your family have artist skills?
My sister is also a good artist, although we have different art styles since she’s more focused on manga and anime. My father was also inclined to art.
Where did you learn drawing?
I actually learned how to draw by watching a lot of cartoons when I was still very young. I kind of had this need to put my imaginations and these cartoon characters I’ve watched into a medium and that’s why I started drawing on paper (specifically on the blank pages of my school notebooks). My art skills are purely self-taught and I haven’t tried enrolling in art programs and classes.
Where did you study and what subject?
I studied Bachelor of Science in Psychology and earned my degree at Silliman University.
How old were you when you started drawing?
Probably 6 or 7 years old. I started drawing when I was in Kindergarten.
Why do you draw in such kind of style? Please tell us more about your technique.
My art style of drawing on paper using ink pens was probably influenced by my past time of drawing cartoon characters on my school notebooks using ballpoint pens. Line art is my forte but I am constantly trying to learn other art skills and styles such as digital art and watercolor art because I want to be as versatile and flexible as possible in using different media.
What is your inspiration? What do you usually do if you don’t have inspiration, but you need to draw?
During my college years, I got my inspiration from my feelings since I used my art as a form of release and escape for the emotions that I felt. Thus, my art was more on the basis of my emotions (e.g. happy, sad, in love, broken). Now that I’ve grown and matured a bit, I’ve realized that I don’t want my art to be focused solely on escaping from the things that I’m experiencing or feeling. This time, I want to create my own world and my own characters. Presently, I get my inspiration from songs, movies, cartoons, and works from other artists.
If I ran out of inspirations, I usually listen to songs or browse on the web to search for ideas and concepts.
What do you want to do in future?
I want to keep making art until I grow old.
How do you see yourself?
I see myself now as a struggling artist who is making a lot of effort in order to gain exposure and be visible.
Where do you like to travel?
I’d love to travel to places where I can experience the culture of the country. Some of my choices are Cambodia, Thailand, Nepal, Vietnam, and Japan. I’m also planning on visiting Buddhist temples in Asia.
Where have you been?
The last place I went to was Cebu last January.
What do you like most about Philippines? What is your big aim or dream?
I pretty much love my country because of its laid-back tropical vibe. Plus, the places and tourist spots here are so beautiful and the cost of living (in Dumaguete) is relatively cheap.
My dream is to become a professional artist; have my own exhibit, gallery, and comic series; and work for animation/video game companies. I also aim to help people and the environment and raise awareness about social issues through my art.
And now we are happy to introduce her artworks in our souvenirs for divers. This gorgeous postcard set «Looking good in Scuba suit» and posters: «Looking good in Scuba suit» and «Born to Dive».
]]>Very inspiring interview from our friend, partner and great illustrator Seidova Olga aya_a.r.t We ask her to tell a few words about her life, art and why she choose to live in Negros Island in the Philippines instead of France, Denmark and Israel.
Where was you born? Tell us a little about your childhood.
I was born in Cherkassy City, which is located near Dnieper river in the heart of Ukraine. I started travelling from my early childhood. My parents often packed our luggage, put it into the car and hit the road. So in the age of 1,5 years was my first time I saw the sea. Of course I don’t remember it clearly but it was love at first wave. Later every summer I spent in Odessa City in a small fishing village, where my grandmother and me was catching shrimp, mussels and eat them as fast as sunflower seeds.
Is somebody involved in art in your family?
My mother has a good painting skills and her father, my grandfather also did well in drawing. But nobody connected profession with art, so I can say that in my family I was the first artist.
Where did you study?
I’m drawing since I remember myself. My parents still keep my first sketches. I graduated Ukraine university at design faculty. It was really nice period in my life and I would love to return at least one day of that time.
What do you like most to draw?
The most what I like in art process is to create new characters and their surrounding world.
What is your inspiration?
I would really enjoy if my characters settle down in every part of our planet and people would like them. I would also like to share all my knowledge with kids, teach them illustration techniques and everything that I know.
What is your biggest dream?
Travel to space!
What can you advice to beginner artists?
#draweveryday
Apart from drawing what is your main hobby?
I love ceramics! Touch and feel clay and create from it strange characters is such fun! My biggest plan for the future is to open my own design pottery.
These cutest candle holders in the shape of dog I created for the 2018 New Year gifting.
And these funny coral creatures appeared into the world after my underwater experience in the Philippines.
Olga's drawings are now available as postcard sets and other gift items in our online shop. You can follow her art in Instagram: aya_a.r.t
You don’t have to look far to find great gifts to give friends and loved ones during the holidays. In this regard, the Filipino fascination with the holidays that celebrate the birth of Our Savior has long created traditions as well as new things. Every year, there are innovations on classic items that our people instantly think of when and if it’s time for gift-giving.
Folks here usually prepare for the season as early as September, first making plans for decorations and putting people in a list for gifts. Iconic is something that defines many things that are found in celebrating Christmas the Filipino way. Through the years, we have created a culture that truly represents the flavors, sights and sounds of the season for the country.
Decorations, above everything else, still make that spirit bright and exciting for everyone. We do have Christmas trees, but other than this Western Christian tradition, the majority of items are unique and native to our tropic nation. Things like puto bumbong eaten as an after-ritual for the midnight mass or simbang gabi, and the lanterns, called parols in the vernacular, whose colors brighten the holiday nights.
For more alternatives, you could do some great research online. This will certainly give you the best ideas available in the market. CausPlanet Inc. with its online shop www.inspiredby.ph, is bringing things handily on the table for everyone by providing affordable alternatives for people who may not be able to catch up with all things in the holiday rush.
The convenience of an online store is supported by unique CausPlanet products. For the holidays, it created a line of products that are easily shipped or handled, will not cost too much and work entirely within Filipino Christmas traditions. These are posters created by hand, with unique messages, tokens of esteem and respect that are perfect for holiday gift-giving to distant relatives and friends and more.
These are sensible gift ideas, just like Pinoys prefer. You can order them in volume or by piece. These solve much of your problems, gift-wise. And you can get to enjoy the season, appreciate the groups of young people caroling, share the spirit your community during simbang gabi, and watch Panunuluyan on Christmas Eve with family.
Our Inspired Team wishes everyone the happiest of holidays this 2017!

« I was born and raised in Zamboanga City. Now I am 25 and I have a 19 month old daughter. I was inspired by my brother to draw when we were still kids, I was about 7 then. I look up to him, so whatever he did, I did the same. We used to draw our favorite anime characters. He stopped drawing when we became adolescents, but I never want to quit. I started doodling when i was in high school. Art has been my inspiration to stop my vices such as smoking. Me and my family moved in Dumaguete after I graduated high school. I studied Fine Arts in Foundation University for a semester and stopped.
I am greatly fascinated with the wild animals, specially the sea creatures, including the corals. I draw them to show to the public how beautiful they are and that they are not meant to be hurt by humans. I want to be an advocate to protect the wildlife with my art. I usually watch wildlife documentary when I'm out of ideas, it always works. In the future, i'm hoping for my art to gain more audience and spread awareness in wildlife protection.»
Now we are happy to introduce you postcard set with Angelo's artworks. They printed on art paper and can be a nice gift to everybody who enjoys art of the Philippines, marine life and also for those who collect postcards and involved in postcrossing.
